A research lab can't be paid by the vendors it reviews. So there are no tiers, no affiliate rankings, and no paywall — the findings are just published.
Everything on the site is free
The Lab is funded the same way a good research publication is — by being useful and worth citing, not by selling you a tool. These are the four things you get without an account:

Every Decision Guide, cost model, and failure-mode writeup — published, cited, and re-tested.
Playbooks & cookbooks
Step-by-step workflows and copy-paste recipes for the decisions that come up in your business.
Ready-made OSS templates
When a workflow is worth code, it ships as a fork-and-ship, MIT-licensed template on GitHub.
Support
Send us the decision you're stuck on. If it's worth a writeup, it moves up the list.
What we don't do
- No affiliate rankings — we don't take referral fees, so the tool we pick isn't the one that pays us.
- No paid tiers or subscriptions to read the research.
- No 'we build it for you' — we publish the playbook and the template, then you run it.
- No reselling your data. If we email you, it's one brief a week and you can leave anytime.
If a tool or template is mentioned, it's named because it worked in a documented test — and when we build something, it's MIT-licensed and yours to fork.
